Are We Conditioned to Fail at Dieting?

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of very different and very eye-catching diets around the world as more and more people look to improve their health, their diet and their lifestyles. However, are we conditioned at a very early age to fail at dieting and other matters?

The Human Mind:

When you think about it, there are literally no boundaries to what you can and cannot do. The only boundaries that you have are those which were developed in your very early years.. when you are conditioned in a certain way.

Therefore, if you have a task in mind, such as a new diet, take a few moments out, sit back and visualise what you want from your diet. If you do this on a regular basis, maybe even daily, your mind will become conditioned to target and aim for your specific goal which may be to lose a certain amount of weight or just to improve your diet.

How Much Weight do You Want to Lose?

Targets are often a very critical area of dieting because again we are conditioned to aim low when in reality we should be aiming high. How many pounds would you expect to lose in your first six months on your new diet? One, two, five, 10, 20? You will note that as we move towards the bigger figures your mind will automatically dismiss these as unachievable goals. But why?

It is quite frightening when you consider the power of your mind and the boundaries which you have in your subconscious life. In our early years our boundaries are dictated by people around us who tell us what they expect, what we should expect and what will happen.

However, the truth is that we are all very different, we all want different things and you will succeed at some things where others will fail.

If you are looking to move on to a new diet, then set yourself a target which is what you want and not what you expect. If you aim high and continually visualise the end result of your successful diet then slowly but surely you will gain a positive mental attitude.

Will a Particular Diet Work for You?

The type of diet you choose is also often dictated by what is around you and the advice given by people close to you. For example the Tesco diet in the UK is very popular because Tesco has a name which everybody trusts and people will see on a regular basis.

However, this should not stop you looking at other diets which may not work for some people but could work for you. Those who are successful in their personal and their financial lives are those who refuse to follow the crowd and are prepared to stand up for what they want and what they believe.

In your financial life you will find that 99% of people will never be “significantly rich” but what separates you from the 1% that do make it? Belief, conditioning and expectations.
