I had to giggle when I first found Vitalicious muffin tops. If you were a Seinfeld fan as I was.. I’m sure you remember the episode where Elaine has an idea for a bakery selling only the tops of the muffins. She enlists the assistance of Kramer and Newman to find a solution for disposing of the stumps (the bottom half of the muffins).
You have to admit.. it is a great idea! After all, the top is always the best part of the muffin.
Anyway, once I found Vitalicious I decided to try the VitaTops.. and I must say they are quite tasty!! To quote the product information at their site: “Vitalicious Muffin Tops are innovative, vital and delicious baked goods that promote a healthy lifestyle, without sacrificing taste.”
The Blueberry Vita Tops, Cranberry Vita Tops and the Banana Nut Vita Tops are my favorites. I have never tried the chocolate varieties since I do not care for chocolate.. but, my BFF, who is a chocolate lover, purchased the chocolate flavors and assures me they are delicious as well.
You can combine these yummy treats with any diet plan. They are low in fat and high in fiber and nutrients.
One of the VitaTops or one of the small Vita Muffins has as much fiber and potassium as an apple, with more protein, more Vitmin A and less grams of sugar.
At the time of this writing the VitaTops come in Blueberry, Banana Nut, Apple Crumb, Banana Fudge, Deep Chocolate, Fudgy Peanut Butter, Raisin Bran and more.
Try Vita Brownies and Vita Cakes as well. I am confident you will enjoy them as much as I do.
